1 Buses are the most economical mode of transportation from AMS and can take you straight to your hotel unlike trains but the weekend service is limited. It costs 3.60 Euros and departs every 30 minutes between 5:40 AM and 11:40 PM. The station is outside the arrivals main entrance and train station level. It takes about 30 minutes to get to Amsterdam City.
2 Trains cost 3.80 Euros, run every 10-15 minutes and take 15-20 minutes to get to Amsterdam city between 6 a.m and 12:30 a.m.. Schiphol Hotel shuttles cost 13.50 Euros for an adult and 6.25 Euros for children. They run every 10 minutes between 6 a.m and 9 p.m. from platform A7 outside the arrivals main section.
3 Choose a taxi from the line and not anyone just offering taxi service for your safety. They cost between 33 and 40 Euros and take 20 minutes to Amsterdam City. This is the most convenient way to get out of the airport.
4 If you are hungry or just need to grab a drink, the options are endless at AMS. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants located throughout the Terminal. It is also a good short layover option.

They offer a Comprehensive and Liability insurance, full breakdown assistance, and waivers on auto theft and collision.
9 There are many shops within the terminal and at the Schiphol Plaza. These include duty-free shops where travelers can buy souvenirs to take back home at an affordable price especially if you'll be travelling outside of the EU.
10 To avoid being hassled at the airport, check if your country is on the list of those whose nationals require a visa to enter Netherlands.
