Top Tips
1 Gets pretty busy in the early morning and afternoon on weekdays from 5:30 a.m. - 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
2 No real way to get around it as checkpoints are specific to the gates. Grab a shuttle however, once you've passed security.
3 Check your status with the airline or TSA to see if you can do a quick TSA PreCheck.
4 The Economy Lot is the most affordable parking option at $14/day. Jump on a shuttle to the terminals.
5 It costs $36 per day at Parking garages A, B and C near the terminals. Four electric-vehicle charging stations which accommodate 8 vehicles is located on the Ground Level of Daily Garage B.
6 The cellphone lot is located close to Terminal B/C.
7 There is complimentary WiFi throughout the airport as well as Charging stations.
8 The most affordable way to get out of the airport is via Metro to the U.S. Capitol for 25 minutes at a cost of approximately $2.
9 A cab will take anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes at a cost of $13.50. You can take a shared shuttle van for a little less than the cab.
10 On layover? The National Mall is 20 minutes via Metro and has a whole of monuments and museums for you to choose from.
