Top Tips
1 Terminals A, C and Terminal B-1 checkpoint are very busy from 5:30 a.m. - 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Terminal B-2: 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Terminal B-3: 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. Based on your airline and TSA status, there is expedited TSA PreCheck lanes available.
2 The most affordable parking is Economy long-term parking at Lot P6 for $18 for the first day and $6 for each additional 8 hours. Shuttle takes you to the terminals.
3 There is Valet Parking available at Garage P4 for $40 up to 24 hours, but $20 for each additional 12 hours. Short-term parking at Lots A & B, and garage C costs $33/day.
4 Most affordable way out is via NJ Transit Bus Lines. Newark Airport Express bus to NY Port Authority terminal, Grand Central and Bryant Park cost $16 and takes 40 minutes. AirTrain Newark connects to NJTransit as well as Amtrak. NJTransit to New York Penn Station costs about $18 for a 30-minute trip.
5 Taxi is the most convenient way out but the fares do not include tolls, tips and surcharges. It costs $15-18 to Newark, $20-$25 to Elizabeth and $50-$70 to New York City.
6 You have to pay for wireless service through Boingo but there are 50 complimentary power charging stations in all terminals and post-security.
7 Every terminal has a pet relief area on the outside.
8 If you are on a layover, no sweat as the Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall is nearby and has restaurants, a large movie theater plus an arcade. A shuttle bus there will cost you $9 for the round trip on the AirTrain at P4.
9 If you need to unwind before traveling, head over to Terminal C and visit the Departure spa.
10 Gallagher's Steakhouse, Grand Central Oyster House, Greenleaf's Grille, are great dining options at terminal C.
