Top Tips
1 In the winter, busy busy busy especially: 6 a.m.- 7:30 a.m; 10:30 a.m. 1 p.m.; and 5 p.m. 8 p.m. particularly Terminal 4. If you came off a Cruise skip long baggage check lines by using the remote baggage check-in services offered through an arrangement with cruise lines.
2 Terminal valet costs $21/day; hourly, $36/day. Most affordable, Economy lot, $7.50/day Cellphone lot is Located at 600 Terminal Drive with 49 covered parking spaces and Flight display screens. Free if you exit within 15 minutes.
3 Grab a taxi to downtown for $18 in about 15 minutes. To the cruise terminal, Port Everglades cost about $12.
4 The most affordable way out is BCT (Broward Public Transit) route No. 1 to downtown for $1.50. Takes about 30-45 minutes.
5 There is free wireless Internet access available throughout the airport and the rental car center.
6 Free charging stations in Terminals 1 and 4. Paid charging stations in Terminals 1, 2 and 3. More free power kiosks are being built.
7 Get everything at one stop after the security checkpoint at Discover Fort Lauderdale. They have gourmet foods, souvenirs and memorabilia from area museums and attractions at Terminal 1.
8 There are several great local cuisine options. My recommendation is Food Network Kitchen, Terminal 3: Concourse F.
9 If you are on a layover, don't worry about struggling with all your items as FLL offers Baggage Storage service.
10 A great place to go if you are on a layover is Greenbelt Public Park which has walking paths and ponds.
