Top Tips
1 Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are extremely busy Monday mornings, Thursday afternoons and Fridays-all day. There are 3 alternate checkpoints at Terminal 1,Terminal 2 has two and Terminal 3 has five. There's only one checkpoint in Terminal 5 (International).
2 If you're headed to Evanston or Skokie, the Pace 250 bus is the cheapest option and is faster than taking the CTA blue line train and transferring to the red line train downtown. The Pace 250 bus is $1.75 and picks up at the Kiss 'n' Fly stop of the Airport Transit System (ATS).
3 Most affordable parking space is Economy Lot E for $17/day and Economy Lot F, $9/day. It will however take you 45 minutes to reach the terminals by shuttle bus and Airport Transit System (ATS).
4 The main parking lots are closer to the terminals. Lots A, B and C: Daily cost is $35 weekday/$34 weekend. Hourly: $2 for first hour; $5 for three hours or less. Valet: $10 first hour; $53 for the day.
5 The cellphone lots Located at Economy Lot F has 150 spaces as well as a portable restroom and flight information display system.
6 The most affordable way to get downtown from the airport is CTA Blue Line train which takes about 50 minutes. Fare: $5. It leaves from Terminal 2, lower level.
7 There are eleven free power-charging workstations but the WiFi comes with a fee.
8 All the terminals have good choices for both souvenirs and local food.
9 If you are traveling with children, there is a large play area at terminal 2.
10 While awaiting your flight, go and view the many arts and culture displays, the 72-foot-long Brachiosaurus skeleton model on loan from the Field Museum and a USO "Cyber Canteen" in Terminal 3.
