Top Tips
1 Avoid the crowd by using the connecting corridor at post-security between Terminal 2 East and Terminal 2 West, after you walk through baggage claim to the other checkpoint.
2 The most affordable parking at SAN are the two long-term/economy which offer shuttle service. SAN Park Pacific Highway: $11/day; SAN Park Harbor Drive: $18/day.
3 Most affordable way out of the airport is via Diego Flyer Route No. 992 at a cost of $2.25 for about 20 minutes drive time.
4 You can take a taxi to downtown San Diego for about $12 and arrive in about 10 minutes. The shared shuttle vans cost $10.
5 If you are on layover, check out the U.S.S. Midway Museum, with more than 25 restored aircraft. It is about five minutes from the airport.
6 Another layover option is the Balboa Park which is home to the San Diego Zoo, museums, and more. It is less than ten minutes from the airport.
7 Airport is right in the city, no long commute needed
8 This airport gets very busy on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5:30 to 7 a.m.
9 For your convenience, there is Valet parking at a cost of $36/day. Terminals 1 and 2 parking cost $28/day while SAN Park NTC lot, off McCain Rd is $17/day.
10 The cellphone Lot has 100 parking spaces and is located east of the Commuter Terminal. There are several amenities including portable restrooms, vending machines and a flight display board.
