Top Tips
1 If you have to take public transit from SJC to San Francisco for some reason, catch the free Airport Flyer to the Santa Clara Caltrain station. It runs every 10 minutes or so, and it's free. This'll also get you to Mountain View, Palo Alto, and so on.
2 The Economy lot and accessible parking areas both have a maximum of $15 per day. Accessible starts at $2 per half hour while Economy fee is flat. Daily Lots 4 and 6 cost a flat rate of $22 while hourly lots 2,3 and 5 start at $2 per half hour, $30 daily maximum.
3 No cashiers on duty so prepare to use credit cards at exit lanes or use cash at pay stations. Motorcycles pay the same as automobiles and have only a handful of designated parking spaces.
4 Free cell phone parking is available near to the airport on both sides of Airport Parkway between Technology Drive and the Highway 87 over crossing but you must remain in the vehicle. There are no amenities.
5 The Airport’s Free electric vehicle charging stations are located on the first level of the Hourly Lot 2 (Terminal A and International Arrivals garage) and Hourly Lot 5 next to Terminal B.Hourly Lot 2 (Terminal A and International Arrivals) has both conductive and inductive hook-ups.
6 SJC now has TSA Pre-check at both terminals. TSA Pre-check allows you to keep shoes, belts and light jackets on and your 3-1-1 bags and laptops in their carry -ons when going through the security checkpoint.
7 US Bank ATM Machines (with Postage Stamps) are available 24 hrs, across from Gate 10, Gate 13, Gate 15, and Baggage Claim. Foreign Currency Exchange Open Daily, 9:00am-9:45am and 1:00pm-5:00pm in Terminal A Baggage Claim, and 10:00am-12:30pm in the International Building post-security departures area across from Gate 15.
8 If you are traveling with your pets, you'll be happy to know that there are Pet Relief Area available 24 hrs., outside to the north of ticketing area.
9 There are no concession areas in arrivals however there are multiple options in the departure both pre and post security checkpoint. There are multiple food and beverage as well as newspapers, magazines and souvenir options.
10 Traveling with your gadgets? There is free Wi-Fi 24 hrs., across the Terminal. Free wireless internet service is available in all public areas of both Terminals A and B, complete with 24-hour customer support and a free security application that encrypts otherwise open Wi-Fi network connections.
